March 4, 2021

With the acquisition of Main Street Bank of Bingham Farms Michigan, Superior National Bank has expanded its geography, service offerings and leadership team.

Now with locations in the Upper Peninsula and Southeast Michigan, the combined bank is enhancing banking services with a larger suite of banking products and tools to better serve customers. Main Street Bank’s high-performance lending division has been fully integrated into Superior National Bank to bring faster loan processing, greater lending capacity and more competitive rates to customers in every market. Additionally, Superior National Bank’s Trust and Wealth Management Team is expanding services into Southeast Michigan.

The acquisition has also fueled expansion of Superior National Bank’s leadership team. Chief Executive Officer J. David Vlahos promoted Chief Operating Officer Michael R. Hauswirth to President and Chief Operating Officer. Hauswirth will oversee organizational operations in all markets to ensure smart, measured growth and continuing high levels of customer satisfaction. Superior National Bank has also enriched its already solid leadership team with the addition of three former Main Street Bank executives. Combined, the new team has expanded skillsets and market knowledge to benefit the organization and customers.  According to Vlahos, “our team is stronger and more talented than ever.  Our combined bank has dynamic leaders in place in all markets to help us stay nimble and make decisions at the local level.”

President and Chief Operating Officer Michael R. Hauswirth is excited about the positive synergies that have resulted from the Main Street Bank acquisition. Says Hauswirth, “our banks share a community banking culture, Midwest values and commitment to serving customers and communities. Customers in every market area are benefiting from expanded products and services and our staff across Michigan is energized by our organization’s commitment to success.”
