Human Resources Coordinator

SUMMARY: Implement and maintain human resource policies and procedures to recruit, develop, and retain the best possible staff to serve the financial institution.


Assist in the hiring process:

  • Post positions
  • Collect applications and forward to appropriate hiring managers
  • Assist in the interview process
  • Extend offer, perform background and credit checks, prepare offer/rejection letters, set up new hire orientations
  • Complete onboarding checklists
  • Send onboarding documents to candidates
  • Process new hires into HRIS

Perform new hire orientation for new employees:

  • Prepare NHO packet
  • Conduct day one orientation training
  • Conduct benefits orientation
  • Ensure new employees are given appropriate training required for financial institutions

Perform all payroll procedures:

  • Train new employees and managers on timekeeping system
  • Enter, audit, review payroll data
  • Process employee timesheets
  • Resolve time entry errors for employees
  • Serve as back up time sheet approver for supervisors
  • Ensure payroll data feeds properly to financial systems
  • Serve as primary contact with payroll provider

Perform benefits administration procedures:

  • Assist in open enrollment process for non-union employees, including review of prior year plans, organizing open enrollment meetings, and preparing reports for upcoming changes.
  • Coordinate new employee enrollments and plan changes as they become eligible
  • Ensure plan documents follow legal guidelines, are up-to-date and properly distributed to employees
  • Process biweekly payroll submissions and monthly bills to service providers
  • Serve as primary contact with third party administrators of benefit plans

Assist in resolving employee questions/issues in a timely fashion, including assistance to supervisors regarding issues in staffing, staff conflicts, etc

Serve on the Events Committee to help organize employee engagement events

Assist in the preparation of job descriptions for positions within the institution

Maintain and update all records pertaining to employee personnel files, health benefits elections, wage changes, and 401k programs

Prepare and submit various notices and regulatory reports

Comprehend and apply the terms of the UFCW bargaining unit agreement with the bank and assist management in interpretation/implementation of contract guidelines.

Manage the NMLS database to enroll, renew and terminate lenders as required

Administer and maintain policies and procedures for employee acknowledgement

Understand and follow bank/department regulations, policies, and procedures, and participate in all compliance-related training

Perform other duties as assigned and/or necessary


  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field preferred
  • Two or more years of experience in a human resources environment or financial institution preferred
  • PHR or SPHR preferred
